Cookie policy

This policy explains the cookies DFPHprep uses, why, and how you control them. Analytics cookies are only set if you agree.

01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember information between pages, such as the fact that you are signed in.

02Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the site to work, so they do not need your consent:

  • Sign-in session cookies (names beginning "sb-"), which keep you signed in securely. They are set only when you sign in and last until you sign out or your session ends.
  • A short-lived cookie that remembers the email address you signed up with for up to one hour, so that we can resend your confirmation email.
  • "dfph_consent", which remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every page. It lasts 6 months and holds only your choice and the date you made it.

03Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

If you choose to allow analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and where the site can be improved. It sets:

  • "_ga", which distinguishes one browser from another. It lasts up to 13 months.
  • "_ga_" followed by our property ID, which keeps track of a visit. It lasts up to 13 months.

Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google signals and advertising features, so this data is not used for advertising or to build profiles across other websites. Google Analytics only runs on the public pages of the site, not in your account. Google acts as our processor and may process data in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

04Cookies we do not use

We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies. Our hosting provider's aggregate web analytics do not use cookies.

05Your choices

Analytics cookies stay off unless you turn them on. You can change your mind at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page or on this page; turning analytics off deletes the analytics cookies straight away. If you are signed in, your choice is also saved to your account, where you can review it under Privacy settings.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will not be able to sign in without the strictly necessary ones. We ask again after 6 months, or sooner if the cookies we use change.

06Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version number and date at the top of the page show when it last changed.
